Your Giving in Action: Expanding On-Campus Research Opportunities
October 13, 2015

This summer, the College is expanding a program piloted in 2014 with the express purpose of nurturing students’ post-graduate success—a core goal in Principia’s strategic plan. Specifically, 13 current students and recent graduates are staying on campus to work alongside professors on research projects ranging from trends in presidential politics to the home range of timber rattlesnakes.
The five professors (from three different departments) working with students this summer represent a significant expansion of last year’s pilot, which had just one professor and one student. Such rapid growth was possible in part due to donors’ support in recognition of the value of this type of hands-on research and faculty-student interaction.
