Simon Athletic Complex

The new Simon Athletic Complex will replace Carey Field House and provide much-needed updates to the School’s athletics fields. Carey Field House has served the School well over many decades, but it was built before Title IX passed and lacks facilities to sufficiently support all student-athletes.

Simon Field House honors beloved coach, mentor, colleague, and friend Bill “Willy K” Simon. Surrounding the new field house will be a new baseball field (with lights) and several all-purpose fields to be used for soccer, field hockey, and cricket. These fields will not only serve Principia students and teams but allow Principia to attract local athletes and teams to train and compete on campus.

Why This Project Is Important Now

  • At Principia School, physical education is a vital component of our character-based education at all levels.
  • Students compete and participate in a wide range of athletics opportunities beyond what our current facilities and fields can accommodate.
  • State-of-the-art facilities matter to coaches and staff and enhance Principia’s ability to attract and retain coaches/character educators.
  • Carey Field House was built in the early 1960s. To meet the needs of today’s student-athletes, we must provide well-functioning, modern facilities to support a robust athletics program for all.

How You Can Help

With your support, Simon Athletic Complex will offer the amenities that coaches and student-athletes expect, while celebrating the qualities that define Principia athletics—sportsmanship rooted in teamwork, perseverance, and character.

Gifts and pledge commitments are welcome. Naming opportunities ranging from $50,000–$1 million are available. Commitments of $25,000 or more may be paid over time (not to exceed five years) with a signed pledge agreement.
